Get-A-Life Plan

Welcome to my compiled list of goals for the next year.  This page is for you guys to keep track with my progress, and see how I’m challenging myself everyday.
  • Conquer my fear of driving (ugh!)
  • Learn Korean

  • Put on a belly dance solo

  • Travel a city alone
  • Read a book that is not required by school

  • Make a tradition

  • Go see a movie alone
  • Find out what the heck I want to do with my life
  • Go to South Korea

  • Go on a date

  • Do something completely out of character (a person other than yourself will determine what you do)

  • Let someone see you hurt

  • Plan a awesome-saucesome spring break doing something you’ve never done before.

  • Watch the sun rise

  • Come up with a list of 10 things I love about myself
  • See that this blog becomes successful

These are some really good goals. And I see you already accomplished the “sing at a karaoke bar” goal, which would be extremely difficult for me to accomplish (fortunately, no one’s asking me to), so you’re off to a good start.

thanks. The funny part about that night was the hardest part wasn’t even the singing part, it was getting over my negative talk. Once I told the little negative demons in my head to shut up the three min song was over like that! Thanks for commenting!

Ah, yes, the Zen of performing, or how to get the critic in your head to shut up. It’s good discipline.

I am curious about the type books/stories you might enjoy reading if you weren’t always reading “required text?”

When I was in college I too gave up on my love of reading, a pleasure that I shared with my children during their youth. I had completed two degrees before realizing two years later that I could read for pleasure again.

Currently, I do more audio books than book in hand. I owe an e-reader, an iPad and iPhone (thus I have iBooks at my disposal), but audible books allow me to exercise (if I would), take a walk, drive and even shop and enjoy a book. I love having someone read to me as my mind creates the movie in my mind (I’m exceptionally visual).

At this time I am enjoying “Some Sing Some Cry by Ntozake Shange. I would like to recommend “The Shack” for your reading pleasure.

    Good Luck,

That last book I read for fun was Sherman Alexie’s Indian Killer. It is really suspenseful and funny, a little derogatory though. I will look into The Shack. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

There are seem so much more than 10 items on the list to love about yourself. You can cross that out immediately!
