About Me

This Blog- When I was first thinking about starting a blog I had all these fantastic ideas on which direction to take my writing.  I love fashion, music, food, literature, and traveling and I wanted to express all these passions to my fellow netizens.  However, after seeking advice from some experienced (AKA old fart bloggers) I was told that it would be unwise to include all these interests on my blog.  I would come off as flighty and scatterbrained without a focused niche (I felt like I was in the animal kingdom when I read this).  Of course every aspiring blogger wants to become popular on the web, so after reading that my Sybil-like self wouldn’t be received well I went on a desperate search to find the one thing that truly defines me.  That search lasted for about 5 minutes before I came to the grand conclusion that there is nothing “defined” about me.  I couldn’t just focus on one aspect of my personality because my traits play off one another.  You can’t have one without the other.  For example, I love music, especially music from around the world, which in turn makes me want to travel to those places and discover their culture (and secretly learn how to say “you are a hater” in as many languages as possible).  I love food (maybe a little bit too much), and my love for all things sinfully tasty is why I’ve become obsessed with plus-sized fashion.  I can continue on about how depriving this blog of my total self would starve my creative soul, but I won’t be so dramatic.  The point is you’ve entered the blogosphere of the Pink-Elephants which means you will be enjoying random moments, word vomit, and whatever I feel like blogging about.  No, you will never read an outrageous post like “how to cook deer meat”, but giving this blog a specific purpose is impossible so it is what it is.

About Me- My name is Kandice (I always thought Kandice was such a milk toast name), but on Pink-Elephants I would like to be referred to as Disa.  Disa is a much more divalicious name and it’s what my friends and family call me, so since I’m allowing you into my life you can refer to me as Disa.  I’m a sophomore in college, surviving university life one day at a time.  I’m seeking a BA in English.  I’m not sure what I want to do with this degree, but I know I like expressing my opinion through writing so hopefully my future degree and this blog will help me land the perfect job.  I adore all things cute (that covers a spectrum of things), and abhor all things bad and disturbing (that’s general enough).  Sometimes I feel like a small girl in a big world, but I’m willing to take on the ultimate adventure of life one post at a time.

Before entering my world of the Pink-Elephants

I only ask of you one favor: please respect this blog spot.  What that means is no obscene, racist, or hurtful comments will be allowed.  I will respect your opinion and allow you to express it if you deliver your thoughts respectfully.  “Mi casa es su casa” so your allowed to say whatever you want, but I ask you to be mindful of others feelings when you post.  I’m done with my respect rant (for now).  Welcome to Pink-Elephants.

I look forward to seeing your 30 day challenge unfold. One question, what is a milk toast name (really)? I am not a slang user so when i spot a phrase unfamiliar to me I do the natural thing…I ask the question.

Have a great day Disa (what is the pronunciation), you may note I am a curious soul. LOL

That’s alright 🙂 Milk toast is an actual term in the dictionary. It means lacking in boldness or vigor. It also is apparently a tasty breakfast. I can’t remember where I picked up the word though T.T

By the way Disa is pronounced like Lisa just with a “D”. My real name is Kandice (Candice- some people think the K changes the sound of the name but it doesn’t), but my nickname is Disa.
